This was a fun piece part of a campaign to explore a flavorful aspect of an otherwise admittedly dry field: human resources. The client HR Affiliates wanted to spice up its digital / online profile, so it enlisted the services of Mightily to bolster its social media and website presence. I had nothing to do with the strategy behind exploring the topic of pets in the workplace, but I loved the concept and contributed enthusiastic copy to provide links internally as part of an overall SEO strategy. Allergies be damned, pets can come to my workplace any day.

I’m naturally an anxious person who constantly considers worst-case scenarios, so this article was a breeze. This piece was part of a link-building strategy to generate interest through social media shares.

I wanted to feature this piece because it highlights the socially progressive nature of the strategy behind Mightily’s advertising. I think there’s a responsibility for organizations to cover topics like this one, and I enjoyed the opportunity of clearing up how non-binary and people of all genders receive the same protections, both at the federal and state level, in the workplace.

In May 2019, I was summoned to help with a backfilling project. This task required me to contribute upwards of 500 mini descriptions across an array of services offered by the massive CPA and Advising firm. This project required a massive learning curve on my end, as I had a very small knowledge base of all things accounting prior to starting. The work was well worth it, though, as the site looks fantastic now.

From July through October 2019, I helped proofread and copy edit a massive site overhaul for one of the largest law firms in the United States. Using AP style, as the client’s editing guide required, I used my experience as a former editorial assistant to ensure there were no clerical mistakes in the copy. As a result, I successfully yet regrettably removed countless serial commas (yet I still see them sprinkled when the site offers updates).
