Writer, manager, teacher, learner

I didn’t always see myself as a creative. Even though I’d picked up some smaller-scale writing projects for different organizations while getting my B.A. and M.A. in English from the University of Louisville, I always felt like I’d be a teacher. But after I graduated and spent some time adjuncting at U of L, I realized how badly I needed a change.

I leveraged my freelance experience with different local agencies and organizations to start my marketing career as a copywriter with Wiley University Services in 2019. For the first couple of years, I delivered long-form blog content, search-optimized web copy, infographics, scripts, and radio copy to generate leads and drive applications for different university partners across the globe.

From there, I was promoted to a senior content specialist role in Wiley’s Online Lead Marketplace where I work today. In this position, I’ve largely been responsible for managing a team of contract writers as we produce inviting, informative web content for our suite of degree aggregate websites. As a result, my team has been able to drive leads, increase web traffic, and exceed department-wide revenue benchmarks.

In the Fall of 2023, I decided to return to the University of Louisville as a Part-time Lecturer. As I continue to work with Wiley and U of L, I also contribute routinely as a content writer to Kentucky to the World, a local nonprofit organization. In this position, I've written long-form articles that tell stories to elevate the cultural and intellectual reputation of the Commonwealth.
